About Screenwriter, Mark Violi |
| Mark Violi is an actor and writer based in Central New Jersey. |
| Mark first gained recognition as a writer with his stage play titled, Roebling: The Story of the Brooklyn Bridge. Staged readings of this historic drama were held at Kelsey Theater and again at Villagers Theatre where it received their New Playwright's Award. |
Mobbed Up is Mark's first completed screenplay. "I set out to just write a good story. Mobbed Up turned out much better than I ever expected. I wanted it to walk the line between plausible and ridiculous. It is truly a comedy with heart. The situations and characters are hilarious but Jeanie's self-realization is the heart of the story." |
| Even as a first-time screenwriter, Mark knows Mobbed Up will be a great success. "I have full confidence in the material I've written and I am very enthusiastic about teaming up with Starline Films to produce Mobbed Up. I know they have the team and resources in place to make the film a great success. I even think Mobbed Up has the potential to be a real box-office surprise hit." |
| Mark is staying close to the production of Mobbed Up as it unfolds. In addition to writing the script, he is also a producer on the film. "I was very happy that Starline asked me to be a part of the production team. Not only because I want to stay close, but also because I feel I have a lot to offer creatively." |
| While working feverishly on the development and production of Mobbed Up, Mark has just begun to market his second screenplay, a high-concept sports comedy. |
| Mark is also an accomplished stage and on-screen actor. Having appeared in numerious stage roles including: Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Clifford in Deathtrap, Dr. Seward in Dracula and Starcat in Psycho Beach Party. |
| His on-screen credits include commercials for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia 76'ers as well as the independent film The Book of Caleb and the upcoming Peter Jackson film The Lovely Bones. |
